Cured of the Disease, part 2: An Op-Ed piece by Mathis Fom.

If you read my previous article, one of danger and patriotism, you'll remember that I was making a valid attempt at getting a mutant capable of invisibility, Remy Garner, into the mutant hospital. If you didn't read my previous article, here's a recap: I was assaulted by Remy who's ex-boyfriend, known as Johnny Edwards, later got into an altercation with me. Johnny is capable of healing at command. These mutants are dangerous.

Since that article was published, I was able to get Remy hospitalized. She spent a week there and when she exited from the establishment, she was in fact cured of her disease. It left me awed to see the work done to her, the mutant bracelet cuffed resolutely to her arm. Some mutants may think that they do not want to be cured but seeing Remy as she stepped out of the hospital, I could not mistake the look on her face for that of joy and excitement. She looked incredibly happy to finally be cured, as though she were seeing the world for the first time.

Following her stay at the mutant hospital, Remy has not gotten into any other fights. All violent tendencies she once exhibited may not fully be squashed - though she no longer has her power, she is still a mutant - but she seemed much calmer, less eager to hurt and maim. Last I heard of her, she was enjoying a perfectly normal, human, event - the wedding of one of her relatives. While Remy will not fully be better ever - there is no cure for mutantism, only the powers that come along with it - she is close to living the life of a normal human being.

Crazed mutants cause calamity at Central Park; Citizens Concerned.

"Cured and Cuffed! Cured and Cuffed!" Protesters cried out early this morning as they marched their way around Central Park. The once beautiful, lush park was almost entirely destroyed yesterday night.
A group of mutants identified as part of the mutant terrorism group Griffin were seen seconds before an explosion occurred in Central Park near what was known as the North Meadow. No bombs were used - only mutants and the dangerous powers the government is seeking to cure. Citizens are thankful that his power was not capable of destroying the park in it's entirety.

Once everything was in place, mutants were seen, from afar, fleeing at top speeds, teleporting from the crime scene, and flying off into the sky in groups almost seconds before the explosion. The explosion killed hundreds of people and left a few critically injured. Some mutants were able to escape using their own abilities - some dug into the ground, others followed suit and took flight, still others simply healed after the explosion hit them. Experts believe this was a 'natural selection' type experiment. Most mutants present in the park were capable of survival while the humans were not. Additionally, any mutant that couldn't survive was killed just the same for having what Griffin deems a 'useless power'. The group often talks about Mutants being the future. They believe our society will, in the future, be composed entirely of mutants. Because of this, experts believe their goal was to allow only those capable of surviving an explosion to continue living. The government fears they may do this experiment again, and citizens are protesting. They demand it be mandatory for mutants to be cured and cuffed

MUTANT RELATED ENTERTAINMENT BANNED

President McCannials would like to announce that from this day forward, all mutant related forms of entertainment have been banned. This means movies, comic books, and television series pertaining to mutants. Such comics would include Marvel heroes like X-MEN, and Spiderman. Its things like childish comic books that glorify the mutant community, when in reality, they are not things to be glorified. Mutants are all dangerous, and with comics and movies, making them look like heroes, people tend to forget such dangers.

All mutant related movies/teleivions series/and comics are being taken off the shelves everywhere, and a new law has been passed, stating that it is now illegal to sell anything that may glamorize mutants to society. Comic book shops have been closed down, three mutant movies that were currently in production, have been cancelled. It is advised that if anyone owns such things, they are disposed of immediately, for we cannot have people thinking such monstrosities are harmless.

ACTOR SHARON POLASKI MURDERED

Around 8:00, on Wednesday night, actor Sharon Polaski was found murdered in her Hollywood home. Her body was found by her personal maid, on the balcony of her Hollywood mansion. The cause of death was three shots to the head, but as for who the murderer that is still unknown. Polaski's family says the cause of murder may have been because she (Sharon), was very proud and open about her mutation. There is no doubt that Polaski's murderer was anti mutant. The maid who found her body said that "from the looks of the room, there looked to have been a struggle. Maybe a fight", which undoubtedly resulted in Polaski's murder.

THANKSGIVING DAY PARADE CANCELLED

For the first time in history, the annual Thanksgiving Day parade in New York City was cancelled. Many believe that with the threat of dangerous mutants, there is a risk of dangerous mutant attack. Its hard to tell what kind of mutants are not currently in Government custody, and its hard to tell what mutants would attend the parade and what mutants will attack the public. So naturally, just for safety precautions, the mayor has cancelled the Thanksgiving Day Parade.

It looks like this will be a gloomy holiday year. Mayor West Gordon feels that if the threats of dangerous mutants and dangerous mutant organizations does not decrease, all other holiday antics will have to be cancelled as well. All upcoming holiday/ Christmas shows, parades, and even New Years will have to be cancelled if threats do not drop. This is why Mayor Gordon feels all mutants must be sent away to the Hospital for correction and testing as soon as possible.

MUTANT LAWS

The following is a list of laws set out by the Government which mutants are expected to obey. If any of these laws are broken, the mutant will face death penalty or hospitalization.

-Illegal for mutants to have children. If a mutant does have a child, it is taken away and put into Government custody, and if the baby is a mutant, it is "taken care of"

-Mutants cannot leave the country

-If a mutant commits a crime, the mutant is immediately given the death sentance

-Rights as a citizen stripped

-Mutants can not give blood

-Mutants cannot have any Government affiliated job.

-Mutants cannot congregate in groups larger than 3

-Mutants cannot use abilities for wepons (or anything else, period)

SUPERHEROES AMONG US!

On Monday, October 29, it seemed as if we had whitnessed something from the Marvel comic books! It seemed like a normal day for everyone on Monday, until around noon when an unsuspecting girl had stumbled upon the wrong path.
It all happened so fast, and no one had seen it coming. It seemed as if luck was on her side, for one boy, undoubtedly a mutant, had rescued her in very broad daylight.
"He just pushed her out of the way of the taxi, and let it hit him. I saw him, he took the glass from the car right out of his head and I watched it heal up as if nothing had even happened." Said Danial Harper, a whitness of the scene.
"It was just like something out of a comic book, he had saved her and then ran away, just like the heroes always do."

Does this mean there is a ray of sunshine for mutant kind, or has this mysterious healing hero dug the mutants a deeper hole in the ground? Time can only tell.

MCCANNIALS DAUGHTERS FOUND

MCCANNIALS CHILDREN FOUND

There has been a sad turn of events for the McCannials family when Sasha and Maria McCannials were found dead in the lawn of the White House. Both girls seem to have been electricuted to death. Along with both daughters, McCannials also recieved a letter with their bodies. McCannails says his daughters were taken for ransom, and that if he were to cancel all Mutant Laws, then his daughters would have been returned safely. McCannials also says that this was too big a risk and he was afraid to take it, for his daughters more than likely would have been murdered anyway.

The McCannials family has been deeply effected by their loss, and will be grieveing for quite some time. A funeral will be held soon in Washington, DC, for both.

Today at noon the New York Establishment of Mutantology was officially opened. Already, ten mutants have been brought in. President McCannials says with the caricular the hospital has these mutants go through, with the addition of the drug testing, and the tracking ststem, the future for both human beings and mutants looks very bright.

MUTANT FAMILY MURDERED.

In Tulsa, Oklahoma today a family of mutants was found murdered in their very own homes. The murderers were Jim Branstone and Wallace Carpenter, two neighbors of the Harrison family. The family--two children, both seven and nine, and the two parents were stabbed brutally, and afterwards a fire was started within the house to make it appear as if it were a housefire. Branstone and Wallace are facing five months in prison for the mutilation of the Harrison family.

SASHA & MARIA MCCANNIALS MISSING

President Brent McCannials has issued a world wide reward to anyone who returns his two daughters home. Since Saturday, October 13, the whereabouts of Sasha and Maria McCannials have been unknown. On Saturday evening the family attended a dinner party, and it was from there both of his daughters had gone missing. McCannials says he will award anyone with a hefty award if they can bring his both home safely

"There is no doubt this was the act of a mutant." McCannials says. "And if this mutant is found, I plan to put an end to their existance for the harsh kidnapping of my children. I can't stress enough the value my reward will be to anyone who can bring me information of where they are, and who took them."

MUTANT FOUND BEATEN TO DEATH IN QUIVERA PARK

Late Saturday night, the body of Janice Evans was found dead in Quivera park, just under the large monument of Jackelyn Quivera. She was found dead, beaten to death, just around 10:00 Saturday night. It isn't fully known if Evans was a Mutant, but for the horrifying graffiti painted on the sidewalk just beside her body, reading "DIE MUTANT SCUM".

From the looks of it, it appears that tension between anti and pro mutant citizens, as well as mutants themselves, is hanging by a thread. Janice Evans' body has been taken in for autopsy, and research will go underway to decipher if she was a mutant, and what her ability was.

Cured of the Disease: An Op-Ed piece by Mathis Fom

Since we first became aware of what we like to call mutants, regular human beings have divided. There are those who think that mutants are just regular people with astonishing abilities, while others remain convinced of their evil, whether it be for religious or personal reasons. Mutants started as nothing more than an anomaly, but now, they have spread their disease to every corner of our world. I am one of the people convinced of their evil, for religious reasons, of course. I was raised by a minister with strong opinions about mutants, and how dangerous and vile they can be. I never had a reason to think of them this way, but still, I did.

It was not until a little over a month ago that I met my first mutant. She was shorter than me, and pretty, I'll admit. Within minutes of meeting her, she assaulted me and I was left lying on the floor of a Manhattan library. After that brief meeting, I saw her again, on Canal street. I knew immediately that something had to be done about her, to protect other innocent citizens. What made her so incredibly elusive was her ability to turn invisible at command. The times I saw her after that, she was often accompanied by her boyfriend, also a mutant. At first, he pretended that he was normal, and thinking I was helping him, I advised him to steer clear of this mutant female. He disregarded my advice, and later on, after seeing him in the park and getting into a short fight with him, I saw that he was capable of healing.

This fight was unfair. However strong I am, nothing I did left a lasting mark. Any bruises I left on him faded completely, and when I did happen to break the skin, it closed up almost instantly. I was afraid of this person - if he can be truly considered a person - and quickly headed for home. Following these encounters, I was contacted online by some of these mutants' friends. Every single one of these friends threatened me and it is my belief, they are also all mutants.

I want to focus on the powers these two have. The girl has invisibility, a power that could allow her to murder anyone and steal anything without anyone knowing. How can you stop a theif or a murderer you can't see? Think of the crimes she may have already committed, and the crimes she may commit in the future. The guy, as I have mentioned, has healing. It goes without saying how dangerous a criminal who can not heal would be. Imagine, if you will, that he is holding up a bank. He is holding hostages and police officers are able to get into the bank. They can not shoot him and prevent him from harming the lives of innocent bystanders. He would simply heal any bullet wounds. You, the reader, may argue that they are not criminals, and maybe you are correct. It does not matter. The only reason I could see anyone needing metahuman abilities is for a dark purpose.

Mutants are dangerous. At first, I was simply raised to believe this, but after meeting a few of these individuals, it is clear that they are. I will continue with this story, providing you with a three part series, updating not only on more encounters with the aforementioned individuals, but on their trips to the New York Facility for Mutant Understanding, as well as their life afterwards. I wont stop until these poor people are cured of this disease.

New Mutant law passed

New Mutantlaw passed

A law has been passed, disallowing all Mutants to pro-create. This means that all Mutants are not allowed to produce children. McCannials says "to make this world a better place with Mutants, we should not allow more to be born. If more Mutants are born, then who knows what ability they will have, and who knows what danger they could be." McCannials says that if a baby has a Mutant gene in it, the Government has a right to take the baby away from the parents for testing. If the baby is not a Mutant, it will be returned to the parents. Once taken away from the parents for good, the baby is Government property and no longer in custody of the Mother and Father. McCannials says he hopes this will be a good step forward to a safer environment.

ANTHONY ASSASSINATED! McCannials elected. Hope for the near future

Around 5 AM Monday morning, President Anthony Kaine was found dead in his bed at the White House in Washington, DC. Officials say the cause of death was poisoning, leaked in through his ears sometime during the night while Kaine was asleep. Authorities say it is safe to reveal Kaine's Mutation. It is also safe to say that McCannials' views of hope for the future for both Human and Mutant kind will definitely be getting him his seat in the White House. There is firm beliefe that what America wants is hope, and McCannials has been giving us just that.
